The travel and tourism sector is one of the largest and fastest growing in the world.
An understanding of this sector is essential for anybody looking to pursue a career in
travel and tourism, and knowledge of travel geography has been identified by
employers as being a very important asset for working in the industry. Do you know the major tourist destinations in the UK? And how they appeal to different types of visitors? Can you locate major UK airports? Do you know where other gateways, such as UK seaports, are located? This unit will give you an understanding of what the UK travel and tourism industry has to offer to tourists. It will enable you to identify and locate tourist destinations, major UK airports and seaports, as well as to discover sea routes and three-letter airport codes. |
