| In this unit students are introduced to the first of the largest Indian religious traditions, Hinduism, which then forms the basis of understanding for the following two units of Buddhism and Sikhism. Year 7 is focussed around the largest Eastern religious traditions. |

| This unit builds on students' knowledge of Hinduism from last term and develops their understanding of Indian religious traditions by introducing students to the key beliefs of Buddhism. |

| Here we will study the final of the three largest religious traditions of India building on prior knowledge of Hindu and Buddhist thought by introducing students to the key religious beliefs and practices of Sikhism. |

| Term 4 | What role does Eastern religion play in society, locally, nationally and globally? | |

| In this unit we build on students' understanding of Hinduism, Buddhism and Sikhism by taking a look at the role in which these religions play in our local, national and global communities. We look at different Eastern religious charities and practices, and evaluate the extent to which they make a positive impact on society. |

| Term 5 | What does it mean to be human, and Humanism | |

| Students will be introduced to the non-religious worldview of Humanism in this unit which will give them a valuable insight into alternative views and outlooks. |

| Term 6 | Revision, end of year exam, Spirited Arts competition | |

| During this term we will revise key content from the year and sit an end of year examination where detailed feedback will be given.
We then intend to take part in NATRE's annual Spirited Arts competition. |
