KS4 Curriculum Guide - Year 11 Spanish
Term 1Module 7. ¡A Currar!   
This unit content will enable students to talk in three tenses about jobs, how you earn money, work experience and career plans for the future.
Assessment: Students will complete a mock exam which will encompass all skills examined at GCSE including a mock speaking exam. Key Words and Terms
 
Term 2Module 6: De costumbre   
Through the study of this unit students will become able to describe mealtimes, order food in a restaurant, learn about Hispanic festivals and talk about illnesses and injuries.
Assessment: Students will sit an end of unit assessment which will comprise of: - listening and reading comprehension - translation (Spanish into English)Key Words and Terms
 
Term 3Mock Exam - Writing and Speaking Practice   
Students will revisit modules 1 - 6 to prepare for their mock exam. This unit of work will consist mainly of: - past and draft paper practice questions - preparing for the role-play element of the speaking exam - preparing for the conversational element of the speaking exam - preparing for the picture task - preparing for the short and long written questions
Assessment: Students will complete a full paper based on modules 1 - 6. This will take place under exam-conditions and will provide students with an opportunity to understand expectations of the GCSE.Key Words and Terms
 
Term 4Module 8. Hacia un mundo mejor   
This unit will focus on International and global dimensions. Students will develop their ability to: Talk about environmental issues and actions - Discussing healthy and unhealthy lifestyles
Assessment: Students will do a 'walking-talking-mock' in which their classroom teacher will walk them through the exam paper in order to ensure that they are fully prepared with the layout and exam expectations. Key Words and Terms
 
Term 5Revision of Modules 1 - 8
In this unit students will both revisit the modules of work covered over the two year course. This will be done through exam skills and practice questions in order to prepare students fully for their exam
Assessment: Students will do a 'walking-talking-mock' in which their classroom teacher will walk them through the exam paper in order to ensure that they are fully prepared with the layout and exam expectations. Key Words and Terms
