| This unit covers the Period Study element of the Edexcel GCSE course, during which students will examine key events and themes from this period. This unit makes up 20% of the GCSE course and is examined in Paper 2. Students will investigate a range of hotspots throughout this conflict including Hungary, Cuba, Germany, Czechoslovakia, the Soviet Union and America to develop an understanding of the global context of the war. Within this depth study students will learn about society, events and people from the time period, exploring how the different aspects of the period fit together. Students will focus on the changes and challenges of the Elizabethan era and the impact on all aspects of English life including religion, politics, foreign relations, society and age of exploration. |
